Passports are very important documents and not only for the sole purpose of identifying yourself when going to a foreign country but also it could act like a temporary drivers license in instances where you have lost yours, and you could still use it until you get your license replaced. It is very important you have it all times because emergencies can arise from anywhere, be it personal or professional. Imagine a case where your employer requires to go to a foreign country so that you can be able to take care of a special matter. If you do not have a passport then you will have to go the nearest passport office and apply for a passport and indicate that you need it urgently and they will ask you for proof and that is when you will give out a passport letter from your employer.
